  • BCR: Jake Gillum set the pace with a blazing time of 4:07 to claim the $1,000 prize that went to the winner of the new Princeton event. Colin Mickow, a Princeton native and highly accomplished marathon runner, was second. Claire Fuhlhage of Normal was the first female finisher.

  • SRM: Donation Push Underway To Pay Off New Second Story Teen Center Building In Princeton

  • In this Tom’s reTake, you’ll see an installment from September of 2023, when Princeton remembered EVERYONE from the community who’d fought in the Civil War.

  • PYBSL will be having a pork chop cookout on June 16th at Zearing Park @5:30 pm till sold out. Porkchop sandwich $5. Porkchop meal will include sandwich, bag of chips, and a beverage for $8. Porkchops will be from Wyanet Meat Locker.

  • First Lutheran Church will host the Old Wheels Car Show on Saturday, June 14. The event will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the church’s north parking lot at 116 N. Pleasant St. Classic car enthusiasts are invited to attend and enjoy the display.

  • The Princeton Public Arts Commission is hosting a free community mural painting event at the first street concert of the season on June 20 at 4 p.m. in the Mary Uthoff Walkway. Each participant will paint a 7” square, and all supplies are provided. Children under 6 must paint with an adult.

  • Ride Illinois is hosting the Z Tour Bike Ride on Saturday, June 21, beginning and ending at Zearing Park. Cyclists will enjoy scenic routes through Bureau County with rolling terrain, creek views, and minimal traffic. Proceeds benefit the Zearing Child Enrichment Center, and registration is open at ztour.org.

  • Team registration is now open for the 28th Annual Tiger Classic, hosted by the Princeton Tiger Athletic Boosters. This year’s event will be held at a new location—Chapel Hill Golf Course in Princeton, IL—on August 16, 2025, with registration beginning at 8 AM and tee-off at 9 AM. Register your team here and join the fun!

High pressure builds into the region overnight into Tuesday, which will also signal the beginning of a warmer period of weather. Expect sunshine and a few clouds for Tuesday as temperatures rise into the 80′s. Look for 90 degree readings by Wednesday.

Off and on rain chances return Wednesday night and continue into Thursday and Friday, so keep the wet weather gear handy. At this point we not expecting much in the way of anything severe. Readings should remain in the 80′s.
