Ah, the weekend. Have you ever noticed how a simple ā€˜helloā€™ can brighten someoneā€™s day? Whether itā€™s a stranger passing by or a friend you havenā€™t seen in a while, small gestures of kindness go a long way. Maybe thinking about smiling and saying ā€œHiā€ to a stranger today. But donā€™t look crazy. Just a nice, normal gesture. Be cool.

Letā€™s go.

šŸŒ±LETTER FROM LORI

Harvest is upon us! The farmers worked hard this summerā€”preparing the ground, planting seeds, fertilizing, and watering their cropsā€”and now they are reaping the rewards. Technology has taken this process to whole new heights. Some of those tractors are so computerized that Iā€™d never be able to drive one. My 3-year-old grandson, however, could sit at the helm and knock out a 100-acre field in record time.

I come from an era when Dad drove the tractor while my brother and I shoveled oats into some sort of dangerous flinger contraption that scattered them everywhere, hoping a few would take root. Looking back, I canā€™t believe how recklessly we farmed. Even more unbelievable is that my motherā€”decades ahead of her time as the safety policeā€”didnā€™t insist we wear helmets, gloves, steel-toed boots, safety harnesses, and long sleeves. We were out there in shorts and flip-flops with no sunscreen. What were we thinking? How I made it to adulthood with all my fingers intact is nothing short of a miracle.

But back to harvesting. My life verse is Galatians 6:9: ā€œDo not grow weary in doing what is right, for in due time, you will reap a harvest.ā€

Have you planted seeds in life? Have you been a listening ear for someone whose world feels out of sync? Have you offered a quarter for the gumball machine to a distraught child while their mother frantically digs through her purse?

Have you nurtured those seeds with a phone call, an unexpected meal, or a bouquet of wildflowers? Have you shown kindness where it wasnā€™t deserved or expected?

If youā€™ve done those things, you will be rewarded. Maybe not today or tomorrow, but it will come. I cling to that hope, and Iā€™ve been blessed more than once with a semi-trailer full of shelled corn when I least expected it.

And if you havenā€™t planted any seeds, what are you waiting for? Hook up the John Deere to the rickety cart, grab a shovel, and start flinging oats! Itā€™s never too lateā€”some of those seeds will sprout!

This version maintains the original tone and structure while smoothing transitions, improving grammar, and refining a few sentences for clarity.
