  • KWQC: “The Illinois Department of Transportation will begin a two-year, $36.8 million construction project on Interstate 80 beginning March 11. The project will span nearly 10 miles of Interstate 80 in Bureau County. Construction will resurface I-80 from Bureau-Henry County line to east of the Illinois 40 interchange.”

  • BCR: “Heartland Bank’s Sara Hudson is giving a presentation 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 13, at the Princeton Public Library regarding banking fraud, who is accessing your information and how to protect yourself.”

  • Starved Rock Media: “If you get around Princeton by driving a golf cart or some other non-highway vehicle, remember to get a new sticker to make yourself legal.”

  • BCR: Princeton seniors Kelsea Mongan and Bennett Williams were nominated to represent Princeton High School in the Elks Teen of the Year competition.

  • Video Flashback: “A late morning supercell storm tracked east along I-80 in Bureau County, Illinois, triggering tornado warning alert sirens in Princeton. Severe winds flipped several high profile vehicles and caused a concentrated path of wind damage to structures and trees along and north of the interstate between Princeton and Geneso, Illinois prior to Noon CT.”

  • The Police Department is hiring. Applications can be picked up at 605 Elm Place.

  • Early registration for the Bureau County Fair Queen Golf Outing ends April 12th. There will be a $500 cash prize.

  • The City of Princeton is looking to hire an individual who will fill the role as the next Planning and Zoning Administrator. Interested applicants should submit a cover letter and resume to [email protected] by Friday, March 15, 2024.

Today: Expect a cooler start to the week with the low hitting 30°F early in the morning, between 2 AM and 3 AM. Conditions will improve significantly throughout the day, leading to a high of 66°F between 4 PM and 5 PM.

Tuesday: The temperature will dip slightly less, with a low of 45°F early in the day between 6 AM and 7 AM. The high for the day will reach 67°F in the mid-afternoon, between 3 PM and 4 PM.

Wednesday: Similar to Tuesday, the morning low will be 47°F between 6 AM and 7 AM. The day will warm up to a high of 68°F in the late afternoon, specifically between 3 PM and 4 PM. Slight chance of precipatation.
